Feedback form results
We received two feedback forms this month:
- Hello. I was interested in applying for a housekeeping or custodial position at the Middletown campus. I wanted to know where to go and how to go about it.
- many of your job postings are out dated, and others have no date at all.
Since neither were relevant to the web page, it was decided that Lisa McGuire would forward those emails to the appropriate parties.
Subcommittee: Usability study report
Paul Shaffer met with the committee on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 3:00 in room JHN109. He helped us define user groups: Prospective Students, Current Students, Faculty, and Staff. We need to define 10 questions per group. We will need two cameras, two computers, observers, participants from all groups. It was decided that each WAT member would invite one faculty to participate in the study during the last week of classes in JHN109.
Subcommittee: myMiami report
This committee was formed to review the Middletown specific links on the bottom of this myMiami page. Most of the links are broken and maybe some do not need to be there at all. Diane Cantonwine and Jo Ann Riggs decided that all links should be removed and replaced with he five standard categories (About Miami Middletown, Academics, Admission, Campus Offices, Continuing Education) plus the Search page. The next step is for Teri Newton to Contact Kent Covert's group to update.
Subcommittee: Web policy report
Andrea Han has drafted the web policy as promised. Copies were submitted to team members for review. All suggestions and comments are to be submitted to Andrea via email. Upon WAT approval the web policy will then be posted on the campus website.
Subcommittee: 508 standards report
Janet Hurn went to the OLM Conference where she attended a Section 508 Accessibility session. The presenters suggested setting a goal of three or four years for compliance. Do the easy tasks, such as ALT attributes to all image tags, first.
Other business
We need to develop a process for defining new websites. Most notably missing is a site for Physical Facilities and the Office of Development.
