Define Scope of Project
There seems to be some confusion about the scope of Miami University's Middetown Campus website. Only Middletown specific units (i.e., Executive Director, Business Services, Computer Facilities, Gardner-Harvey Library) are part of the site. The domain is *.mid.muohio.edu. Anything outside that domain is beyond our scope. These include personal web pages, student organizations, and academic departments as well as myMiami.
Develop Web Policy
It is time to document unwritten policy and procedure. How does a department get a website? Who has to follow the look and feel of the Middletown campus website? Who do I contact when I see something wrong? A sub-committee was created to develop a web policy document. Members include: Raymond Fessler (chair), Lee Back, Teri Newton, and Jo Ann Riggs.
Conduct a Usability Study
Is the Middletown campus website easy to use? A sub-committee was created to develop a usability study. Members include: Diane Delisio (chair), Diane Cantonwine, Lisa McGuire, Rob Schorman, and Jan Toennisson
Comply with Section 508 standards for web accessibility
Compliance with Section 508 enables those with disabilities to have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to that provided to others. A sub-committee was created to develop a plan for compliance. Members include: Teri Newton (chair) and Janet Hurn.
Other Business
- The web server is out of warranty. It was purchased in June of 1998 and is a 333Mhz PII. Lee will spec a server and submit it to the TLTR
