Other Programs
The Office of Student Affairs oversees several other
programs important to students at Miami Middletown:
- Convocation is the
traditional gathering of all faculty, staff, and students held at the beginning
of each academic year.
- The Student of the Month
and Organization of the Month awards honor individuals
and groups who make a positive difference at Miami University Middletown.
- The W. Lynn Darbyshire
Award is given to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership
in a student organization, student government, student employment, community
service or campus committee assignment.
- Departmental Awards for academic achievement
are presented to the top students in each department at the end of each academic
year.
- Leadership Service Awards are given to students
who demonstrate exceptional service and/or leadership to the campus or community,
as a student employee, or outstanding initiative as a student while maintaining
a good academic record.
- Mentorship Programs are provided to students
who are interested in developing a one-on-one relationship with faculty and
staff. Mentors assist students with counseling and career opportunities.
- The Student Ambassadors Program
gives students the opportunity to serve as campus greeters for a variety of
programs and events.
- Hawk Talk is a monthly television
broadcast sponsored by TV Middletown, which highlights different faculty,
staff, students, and activities of interest on Campus.
