The Lady ThunderHawks opened their Home Season
with a tough loss to Cedarville JV’s.
The Hawks were trying to avenge an earlier loss to Cedarville but came up short in the loss. The Miami University Middletown women’s basketball team dropped a 51-68 decision Thursday, Nov. 12, to the Cedarville junior varsity team.
MUM was within five points with five minutes to play, but couldn’t convert down the stretch.
Shandar Musselman paced MUM with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Brooke Keene added 12 points and five assists. Sara Rossi grabbed eight boards, and Kylee Randall and Latonya Green chipped in with six points apiece.
NIA A Division II Asbury College too Tough for the Hawks
The MUM women lost to Asbury College Saturday Nov. 14 by the score of 102-58 as the Lady Eagles hit 50% of their field goals for the game including 13 - 3's. Outside of an early spurt that jumped the Hawks to an early 9-2 lead, the Lady Thunderhawks never threatened.
Latonya Green led MUM in scoring with 13 followed by Brooke Keene with 10. Miranda Alsept followed with 9, Sara Rossi 8, Ashley Rison and Shandar Musselman 7 each, Megan Phillips and Kylee Randall added 2 each. Shandar Musselman, despite only playing a quarter of the game due to an ankle injury and Keene led the rebounding with 8 each. Keene also contributed 5 assists.
The Ladies play at Sinclair Wed., Nov. 18 at 5:30pm.
