The ThunderHawks fall Short in Bid for the State Title
The Miami Middletown ended a fine season with a bottom of the seventh heartbreak loss. The ThunderHawks were leading 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh with two outs when an OU Lancaster hitter, with bases loaded, hit a shot to deep center field. The throw to home was too late to get the winning run. The loss put the Hawks with a fourth place finish in the tournament.
The ThunderHawks had three individuals earn Academic All-Conference honors. Phillip Dickerson, Brian Sheppard and Brandon Ward were recognized for their academic achievements while playing baseball. Phillip Dickerson was the Scholar Athlete for the baseball team.
