Submission Formatting Requirements

> We only accept electronic submissions via the email address below.

> Use the body of your email as a cover letter. Understand what a cover letter is. If you're not sure, you can find out here.

> The author's name and email address should appear both in the body of the email message and on the first page of the manuscript. We will respond to your submission via the email address you list in your cover letter. Please be aware that we will make no attempts to contact you via phone or snail-mail, so use an email address that will remain active.

> Send your work as an attachment. Do not submit your work in the body of your email. Send written work in .doc, .rtf, or .txt format. No .wps, .zip, or .sit files. Send cover art in .jpg, .gif, or .bmp format. Tthe image should fit a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. We may ask for a .png or .psd file if your art work is accepted.

> Limit prose submissions to one work, poetry to 1-3 works, and cover art to two works.

> Submit work in only one genre. (You may submit work for the WoW page or cover art along with creative work, but please send them in separate emails.)

> Please wait for a response before sending more work.

> All creative submissions should limit themselves to 5,000 words. WoW submissions have no word count limit, though shorter is better (shoot for 5,000 words maximum).

> We accept simultaneous submissions, but wish to be informed of that fact in your cover letter. If the manuscript is accepted elsewhere, we require immediate notification.

> We do not accept previously published creative work. "Previously published" includes final drafts published on blogs, personal web sites, etc.

> We can't pay you any money.

> By submitting to Segue, you attest that your submission is your own, original work. We acquire First North American Serial Rights, the right to archive your work online, and the right to publish your work in a print anthology, should the opportunity arise (not bloody likely). All other rights revert to the author. If you reprint the piece elsewhere, we require that you cite our publication as the original publisher.
