welcome, bryan walpert: poetry editor

The staff of Segue is extremely pleased to announce that we have coerced Bryan Walpert to serve as Poetry Editor!

Born and educated in the United States, Bryan Walpert teaches creative writing at Massey University in New Zealand, where he has received a national Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award. He is the author of two books of poems, Etymology and A History of Glass, the latter a finalist in the Stephen F. Austin State UP book award; a book of short stories, Ephraim's Eyes, named a Best Book of 2010 in NZ; and a scholarly monograph, Resistance to Science in Contemporary American Poetry. His work has won a number of awards, including the James Wright Poetry Award from the Mid-American Review and first prize in the New Zealand Poetry Society International Poetry Competition.
