The series began in 1973 with Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas. Past Casper lecturers have included Nobel Peace Prize recipient Oscar Arias, former British Prime Minister Sir Harold Wilson, former Secretary of State Edmund Muskie, and author Jonathan Kozol.
