Middletown students unaffected by MU security breach

Recent news reports have described the efforts Miami University is taking to ensure the integrity of incoming student information after university-issued ID numbers for a large portion of the freshman class were accidentally included in a series of e-mails.

No Miami Middletown student records were involved in this incident, and no information involving incoming MUM students was part of the security breach.

The incident involved first-year students who enrolled on the Oxford campus. The university knows of no improper use of the accidentally released information, but is replacing the ID numbers for all those students as a precaution.
