Miami President Hodge Speaker for Middletown Alumni Chapter Annual DinnerMiami University's 21st president, Dr. David Hodge, will be the featured speaker at the annual dinner of the Middletown Chapter of the Miami University Alumni Association on Monday, Feb. 25 at Miami University Middletown.
"We are very pleased that Dr. and Mrs. Hodge will be able to be with us," said Les Landen, president of the local alumni chapter. "This will be a great opportunity for Miami alumni in the area to meet the Hodges, and to learn more about his vision for the future of the entire university."
Comprising Miami alumni from throughout the Middletown region, the local chapter focuses its efforts on raising funds to support its endowed scholarship and to make book awards available to entering Miami students on all campuses each fall.
The evening begins with a mocktail reception at 6 p.m. in the Johnston Hall Campus Community Center and continues with dinner at 7 p.m. The program will feature greetings from Miami Middletown Dean Dr. Kelly Cowan and Dr. Hodge's address.
The Hodges joined Miami in July 2006. With a successful track record spanning 30 years of experience in higher education, David Hodge has a talent for both teaching and research. Before coming to Miami, he served as a professor of geography, department chair, divisional dean and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. Among his most recent achievements is the introduction of the Miami Access Initiative, making a Miami education accessible to students from families with limited financial means.

Reservations are due by February 18 and may be made on line at www.miamialum.org/middletownchapter.
