The library maintains a collection of reserve items requested by faculty members for use by students in their courses. These items may be books, DVDs, or other items physically located
in the library for checkout.
- Faculty who wish to place new items on reserve should consult information on that process and/or use our Reserve Request Form.
- You may wish to consult the list of Textbooks on Reserve provided by the library and faculty members. If you have a copy of a textbook that we could add to the collection, or if you would like us to procure a copy of your textbook, let us know using our Reserve Request Form.
- In addition to physical items on reserve, we also offer a Video on Demand (VOD) service, which converts library-owned DVDs and videocassettes into digital video that can be watched anywhere (once students login and click a link for the video in a Canvas class site). VOD may be requested using our Reserve Request Form. We also recommend that you check Miami University Libraries collections of streaming videos to find useful titles that can be easily linked in your Canvas course. Kanopy is one such collection that includes many documentaries and films.
- Use the Reserve Materials link to find reserve materials for a specific course.
