Chemical Technology

Introduction

You may be surprised to know that Chemical Technology is important in industries as wide ranging as foods and flavors, steel, medicine, and computer chips. As a matter of fact, chemical technology skills can be applied to most manufacturing processes. Good paying positions are widely available, and there is a constant request for graduates from our two-year program.

This laboratory-based program is centered in the new Levey Hall at Miami University Middletown and includes field trips to area companies. You will acquire the knowledge and techniques needed to make you valuable in the laboratory and in manufacturing plants. Internships and cooperative work experiences give students the hands-on training employers seek; these opportunities have been available throughout the tri-state area.

After earning the Associate of Applied Science degree in Chemical Technology, you may decide to continue your education toward a bachelor’s degree on a full or part-time basis. You will have already completed half of the requirements for a B.A. in Chemistry, and many companies offer financial assistance to continue!
