Refunds

  • If you withdraw from a class, your fees will be refunded according to the following schedule. The date of your withdrawal is the date you formally withdraw at the Office of the Registrar / Office of Records and Registration.
  • If you drop below 12 credit hours, you will be refunded (according to the refund schedule), the difference between the fee for your “new” number of credit hours and the rate for 12 hours.
  • Withdrawing from a class may affect any financial aid award you receive. See a financial aid counselor for more information.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to drop any unwanted classes. DO NOT assume you will be automatically dropped for non-attendance.

Refund Schedule for Regional Campuses (semester-long classes for Spring and Fall semesters)

First 5 days of the term Last day to withdraw for 100 percent refund
6th through 8th day of the term Last day to withdraw for 90 percent refund
9th through 20th day of the term Last day to withdraw for 50 percent refund
21st through 30th day of the term Last day to withdraw for 35 percent refund
31st through 40th day of the term Last day to withdraw for 25 percent refund
After 40th day of the term No refund

Note: that refund deadlines may be different from registrar’s deadlines for grading.

  • Refund checks will be sent to students who have a credit on their account approximately one month after school begins.
  • You may monitor your account summary to see if your refund check has been issued.
  • The fastest way to receive your refund is to sign-up for direct deposit.

Go to the RedHawk Refund Portal

  1. Go to myMiami and log in.
  2. Click the "My Bill & Aid" tab
  3. Select "RedHawk Refunds."
