Admission, Fees, and Financial Aid

First-Time

You are a first-time student if you have never taken college courses at another accredited university and you plan to seek a degree or certification at Miami University. Miami University's regional campuses have an open admission policy for first-time students. To enroll as a first-time student, complete the following steps:

  1. Apply online or print out the PDF application.
  2. Submit your high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores or a copy of your official GED (as well as the $35 application fee if not applying online) to the following address:

    • High school transcripts must be submitted directly to MUM or delivered in a sealed envelope from the high school
    • ACT code: 3299
    • SAT code: 1509
  4. Apply for Financial Aid:
    1. Request a PIN (this is your electronic signature).
    2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
      • Priority deadline for filing the FAFSA: Feb. 15. The FAFSA can be completed after Feb. 15 but should be completed at least 4 weeks before the start of classes.
      • Miami University's Institutional Code: 003077
    3. To be eligible for MUM scholarships, apply by March 1st every year.
  5. Complete the Accepted Student Checklist.
