Admission, Fees, and Financial Aid
First-time
You are a first-time student if you have never taken college courses at another accredited university and you plan to seek a degree or certification at Miami University. Miami University's regional campuses have an open admission policy for first-time students.
Transfer
You are a transfer student if you have attended another accredited college or university after high school and have earned credit. Transfer students who have been enrolled in college in the last 2 years must have a 2.0 GPA or higher in their previous coursework.
Transient
You are a transient student if you are currently enrolled in another institution. Transient students may only attend Miami University Middletown for one semester at a time (and no two consecutive semesters). If you later decide to transfer to Miami, you must complete the transfer student application.
Returning Former
If you have previously completed coursework at any of the three Miami campuses, you are a returning former student. If you never enrolled in classes but have applied to MUM before, visit the Office of Admission to complete a re-application.
International Students
You are an international student if you are NOT a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident and wish to enroll at Miami University Middletown as an undergraduate student. These instructions are for persons in a nonimmigrant visa status (if already in the U.S.) and for those who are seeking to enter the U.S. as F-1 and J-1 students or in any other nonimmigrant status. Persons who are permanent residents of the U.S., regardless of where they have completed their education, should follow the domestic student application procedures.
Unclassified
You have already completed a bachelor's degree program at another accredited institution and would like to take a few classes at Miami but are not seeking another degree.
Nondegree
You have been out of school (high school or college) for at least two years and would like to take a few classes at Miami but are not seeking a degree. Nondegree students are limited to 12 credit hours.
PSEOP
You are a high school student in grades 9-12 who meets the qualifications to take college courses for high school and college credit.
