Greetings Miami Middletown Faculty,
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you had a resource readily available to assist you in providing enriching experiences for your students?
For example: Bringing an author in your field of study to campus to provide a couple of lectures to your classes?
or
If your class is discussing poverty issues, might your studentÕs learning be enhanced taking a trip to a homeless shelter?
While these are just a couple of examples, I work with all departments. It is my hope that I can partner with you to make co-curricular experiences a way of life at Miami Middletown and in your class rooms.
Co-curricular activities enhance student learning by engaging all the senses and allowing the student to experience a course topic first hand. These experiences can be as simple as showing the class a topic related video, to bringing in a published author in your discipline to sponsoring a field trip. The ideas are limitless and I can help you with the implementation and funding.
To the right are a few activities sponsored in the past by this program to provide students a variety of experiences to help enhance their learning. My hope is that we will be able to work collectively to provide activities for your classes.
Examples of programs supported in 2005-2006:
