Guidelines for use
The intent of providing this space is to offer Part-Time Faculty a space for planning, meeting with students, and storing belongings on a short-term basis.
- Access to the Oasis requires a key (to be obtained from Business Services, 116 Johnston Hall).
The same key should work in either location (Thesken or Johnston). For the sake of security, please be sure that the door is closed and locked at all times except when you are in the room with a clear sightline to the door.
- Workspace (including the conference rooms) is on a first-come, first-served basis at all times. If you find that there is no workspace available on a regular basis, please communicate this to the Associate Dean (see information below). An advance sign-up process will be initiated if overcrowding occurs.
- Phones are provided for you to receive calls and to make local calls. When the phone goes unanswered, the call will be rerouted to the Faculty Secretary’s office in the respective buildings. Voice mail will not be available.
- Computer stations are provided for your convenience. Please log off when you have finished your work, and please observe the guidelines for computer use provided by Computer Services. Most notably, do not leave files on the computer desktop.
- The Part-Time Faculty Oasis is not to be used for student testing. In that regard, the guidelines are identical to those regarding the Thesken Hall and Johnston Hall Faculty Lounges, which are also not to be used for student testing.
- Unaccompanied students are not to be in the Part-time Faculty Oasis.
